The Richmond Group has recently implemented its first Environmental Policy along with an Environmental Management System (EMS) and Office Environmental Procedures signed and approved by our Managing Director
What we already achieved:
- SMS messages are already sent instead of letters whenever possible.
- Online statements are being developed to cut the need for sending postal statements to customers.
- We are working towards converting all documentation onto recycled paper by 2008.
- 80% of all our paper is currently recycled and 75% of our total waste is recycled.
- 78% of payments are taken electronically rather than by post.
- All outbound mailing lists are de-duplicated and checked against the Royal mail PAF file so that we never knowingly send undeliverable or duplicate mail.
- 80% of our employees use public transport, car share. This is possible because of our town centre location and we are working to keep it that way.
What we aiming for:
- Energy consumption is currently being reviewed .We are aiming for a 25% reduction in energy consumption per employee by 2008.
- Minimise waste throughout the Company by waste reduction, reuse or recycling, sending waste to landfill as a last resort.
- Conduct regular management reviews of our environmental policy.
- Invest in our employees, by providing continual training, and involve all employees in our environmental programme.
